Frequently Asked Questions
How many times can I recharge the battery?
Typically 500 times, up to 1000 times. However, charging cycles are
affected by temperature, charging currents and other conditions. Ideal
conditions are 20+2 degrees centigrade, humidity 60+20%. Above 500
charges the full capacity load may decrease 30-50%.
What is the difference between the AlwaysReady battery and a regular primary battery?
A regular primary battery cannot
be used again once it's charge has been used up and then must be
discarded. It can also be stored for long periods without losing its capacity. The AlwaysReady battery can
be recharged using a charger after its capacity has been used up. It
can be recharged up to 1000 times. After charging, its capacity can be
locked up for a long period, just like the first time.
What is the difference between the AlwaysReady battery and a regular NiMH rechargeable battery?
Regular Ni-MH rechargeable batteries can be stored for several days but then they lose their initial capacity very quickly (about 20% after 30 days). The AlwaysReady battery keeps its capacity for up to 1 year, at least 12 times longer than regular rechargeable batteries.
Why should I use The AlwaysReady battery rather than just buy a primary battery?
Many primary battery users feel uncomfortable about recharging. The AlwaysReady battery is
just like a primary battery and can be used right out of the packaging.
Also, like primary batteries, it can be stored for long periods without
losing much of its charge. After charging, it still retains this
capability.
How long can it be stored? How does this compare to typical primary and rechargeable batteries?
Typical rechargeable batteries lose up to 20% of their charge per
month. Primary batteries lose about 5% of their capacity per
year. The AlwaysReady battery keeps up
to 75-85% of its charge after 1 year. After it has been
used it can then be charged up and stored again (or
used).
What are the typical devices that can use the AlwaysReady battery?
Portable
entertainment devices like MP3 and other music players, boom boxes,
digital cameras, handheld games. It can also be used in typical home
devices like flashlights, remote controls and analog cameras.
What is the capacity of the AlwaysReady Battery? The nominal rated capacity for AA sizes is 2100mA, for AAA sizes is 800mAh
How
many digital camera shots can the AlwaysReady Battery NiMH AA support?
How does this compare to other primary battery brands?
Camelion
test results for the AA size battery indicate up to 350 shots the first
time it is used and up to 230 after a year of storage. This is several
times more than regular alkaline batteries (as low as 40 shots).
