Prolong the battery operating period

If batteries are inserted correctly, you can use them years. Here are some suggestions to maximize the battery life.

General tips for the care and use of your battery

  • Do not use super heavy duty and other batteries with lower capacity in devices with high power requirements, like digital cameras.

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place and avoid heat.

  • Discharge battery completely before charging, This applies in particular for nickel-cadmium batteries, which have a memory effect.

  • Remove the battery when the device is not used for several days.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions of our Camelion users:

Reduce fast chargers battery life? I use the BC-907 charger and the Always Ready batteries.
The BC-0907 charger uses a special technology to ensure that the quick charging will not damage the battery. The batteries charge gently in less than 60 minutes by continuous pulse charge. This saves time and money.

I have super heavy duty batteries used in my digital camera and the camera did not work. What happened? For which devices are the Super Heavy Duty batteries best suited?
The Super Heavy Duty battery or high-capacity battery are zinc chloride, carbon zinc or manganese chloride batteries. These batteries are best suited for small devices such as remote controls, clocks and simple flashlights. In devices with constant high power requirements, like digital cameras, these do not work or only very poorly.

Can Super Heavy Duty batteries are used in a wireless PC mouse?
The wireless mouse is a high-drain device and is best served by Ni-MH batteries or alkaline batteries.

My charger manual says that the safety shutdown is 1.5 hours. What does this mean?
To conserve battery some smart chargers have a countdown timer that stops the charging current after a defined time. For example the BC -907 charger charges almost any battery packs in less than 1.5 hours,  therefore, the 1.5 hours downtime is rarely achieved. The turn-off is achieved only in two cases: when the battery due to a defect or malfunction can not be fully charged or when the battery capacity is very high and requires an additional charging time.
